I wrote my blood fugue as an consecution of a funny bet in the cafeteria of our music university. Michael, a very good friend of mine, argued that it is hardly possible to compose a real vienna waltz in form of a fugue. So I earned a crate of beer with this piece :-) It is based on the theme of "Wiener Blut" from Johann Strauss, later in the fugue combined with a theme from an organ fugue of Bach, also some Beethoven may be found.
