George Osborne (1806-1893) was an Irish composer and pianist; self taught up to the age of 18; went to Belgium in 1825; afterwards to Paris (1826); he studied with Fetis, Pixis and Kalkbrenner, made the acquaintance of Chopin and Berlioz.
