Organ player and composer Pietro Allessandro Yon (Turijn 1886-New York 1943) was of Italian origin. He studied in Milan, Turin and Rome. At first he worked as an organist in Rome; in 1907 he left for the United States of America and finally became organist at the famous Saint Patrick's Cathedral in New York. In 1921 he became an American citizen. He composed organ and church music, songs and piano music.
