Pater Noster is the prayer of Jesus to His Father in heaven. The texts talks about God’s characters, "Hallowed be thy name"; God’s concerns, "Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as in heaven" and man’s physical and spiritual needs, "Give us this day our daily bready and forgive us our sins". Lastly, the hope for God to drive our lives in goodness, "lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil". This setting is in SSAATTBB voices started with a simple harmony in D Major. Then comes the idea of pleasant dissonances that helped the build-up in the middle of the composition. Its momentum started from the word Et ne nos inducas (and lead us not into temptation) until it reaches the peak of its line. The additional Amen is a heavenly confirmation of our faith that eventually ended in silence, a sign of peace and total surrender to our God in heaven.
