Extra Information While this song has often been attributed to Giuseppe Giordani, scholar John Glen Paton proposes that it is actually by Tommaso Giordani. The Nanki Library copy is bound in a volume of publications by Tommaso Giordani, which may reinforce this notion. It has also been attributed to Handel, and more recently to Ferdinando Bertoni (1725-1813). Additional info here
