The third verse starts out with the men singing in 4 part harmony and the women come in on the very last line. Then there is an immediate key modulation and they sing in 7-part harmony. Then the tone drops again and the women enter softly for a brief reprise on the last verse, which returns to the flowing accompaniment to bring the theme back to the origin.
